What Families Love
About Our Distance Learning Program
10 Essentials of our Holistic Approach to Distance Learning

LEARNER-CENTERED EDUCATION

Supporting the needs of children in all aspects of development such as cognitive, language, socio-emotional, and physical will continue to be the main focus of our learning design, content, activities, and processes.

SMALL CLASS SIZE IS KEY!

We maintain appropriate group sizes and teacher to children ratios (smaller class size for younger group) to ensure that nobody in the class will be left behind. This allows teachers to devote more time to each child for one-on-one conversations, engagement on activities, observation of child’s interests, & assessment of progress and delays. As a result, teachers are able to develop lesson plans that respond to individual children’s learning styles, needs, strengths, & weaknesses.

FLEXIBLE AND ADAPTIVE EDUCATION

We acknowledge that most parents, if not all, are managing multiple responsibilities while also doing their best to provide incredible support to their child(ren). That is why we designed two distance learning programs that families may choose from: Flexible Study Program and Home Study Program.

VALUES FORMATION MATTERS

Values formation is paramount in our educational philosophy, approaches, and curriculum. Together with the parents, we believe that it is our prime responsibility to promote not just the acquisition of KNOWLEDGE but also the acquisition of VIRTUES. For without virtues, it is impossible to do what is right; without virtues, it is impossible to love what is good.

BALANCED LEARNING ACTIVITIES

Following the recommendation of the World Health Organization and other child experts, we will balance learning activities such that some tasks are done online (e.g., video conferencing, watching educational videos, etc.) and other tasks are done offline (e.g., doing crafts, answering worksheets, doing book exercises, working on projects, etc.).

DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP & ONLINE SAFETY

Now more than ever, students need essential digital citizenship skills to responsibly navigate the digital world. We have lessons and policies in place to help students: (a) think critically about what they see online; (b) understand how their online habits and behaviors can positively or negatively affect them and others; and (c) respond with respect and compassion towards others.

SUCCESS OF EVERY LEARNER

Recognizing that these are not normal times, we do not expect that all learners will be equitably well-positioned to learn from home. When it comes to assessment and evaluation, we will provide consistent and timely feedback through one-on-one consultations and mentoring. Our goal is to help every learner succeed, not to penalize them for the circumstances that they find themselves in.

SOCIO-EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING

Integrated in our curriculum are learnable, measurable, scientifically-grounded skill set specifically aimed at increasing the Emotional Intelligence of our students. Research indicates that increased Emotional Intelligence leads to better health, academic achievement, and stronger relationships.

SCHOOL-FAMILY COLLABORATION

The strength of our school is built upon our solid partnership with families and all the members of our school community. From the design of our program up to implementation, we always consult them because we value our shared responsibility in educating young children.

DIGITALLY CONNECTED SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Supported by Google Suite for Education, we have developed an online platform called KindrEd dedicated to bring school and families together in educating young children through collaborative, innovative, adaptive, and flexible learning approaches. The word ‘KindrEd’ means family or tribe , and that is exactly how we regard all members of our school community. Learn more about KindrEd here: https://bit.ly/KindrEdSite
